I’m excited about this week’s meal plan. I was invited by my friend, Susan, to participate in a seven day clean eating challenge group she is leading. She is a Beach Body coach and has provided us with structured meal plans and will be guiding and encouraging us to exercise daily and she will be sharing information and supporting us throughout the week. Her meal plan ideas made meal planning so easy this week! If you’re interested in hearing more about Beach Body or would like to learn more about her clean eating challenge then stop by her website. Susan is a busy homeschooling mama of four but finds time to meal plan, meal prep, run and workout. Her two girls are in my homeschool girls running group (and they are both FAST!).
Most of the foods she recommended were things that I already eat on the regular so it won’t be a drastic change for me. However, this will be a cleanse of sorts as I detox from the sugary crap I’ve been overloading on recently. I’m going to plan to do this for seven days and if it goes well I’ll follow it up with the Advocare ten day cleanse that I’ve been putting off for a few weeks!
Sunday we went to Raleigh to hit up Trader Joe’s for groceries. It is exactly 1.5 hours from my door to TJ’s and we went just for that! I really wish we could get one closer to home. I love that place! I spent way too much money but I was able to pick up a lot of stuff that just isn’t available around here (or is more expensive).
I actually planned out all my meals and snacks for this week so I would be sure I didn’t miss anything at the grocery store. Hopefully it will also keep me more accountable with sticking to it. I even put it on a real calendar this week! I used an editable calendar provided by Confessions of a Homeschooler.
I’m getting back into a groove with my workouts. I’m still not hitting up the gym as often as I would like to but I’m getting there! Last week I got on the stair climber and realized that I actually enjoyed it! I remember when I used to work on the sixth floor at the hospital and I could barely make it up three flights before I’d have to bail out and hop on the elevator. Thursday I did twenty floors without stopping. Bam. I think it will be a good option for building my endurance back up and strengthening my left knee. I didn’t have any pain or feel any weakness in it at all last week.
Monday: Treadmill 5K, Stair Climber x 30 floors
Tuesday: Train with Joanna, Stair Climber x 30 floors
Wednesday: Something fun with the girls (Just Dance or if we really do get snow…build a snowman and have a snowball fight!)
Thursday: Run x 30 minutes
Friday: Cardio Combo Class
The hubby and I talked today about the half marathon we had been planning to do in March and we both admitted that we really didn’t want to do it. I don’t want to commit to something and then half you-know-what it. My heart just isn’t in it right now. If I’m going to do another half I want to be all in and I’m just not there right now. So instead of training for a half we are both going to work on our short distances and plan to do several 5Ks this Spring. Maybe in the Fall we’ll commit to another half but right now I’m happy with running short races and spending my weekends with my girls (instead of going for long runs!).
Here’s to a great week of clean eating!
