It’s hard to believe that it’s already May and that Mother’s Day is right around the corner!  I always look forward to celebrating Mother’s Day.  I enjoy spending the day with my girls and my mother and I try to always get an updated photo of me with each of them.

Me and my birdies, 2013

Today I’m sharing some of my favorite running products and things that the mother runner in your life might like to receive this Mother’s Day!  A few of them are on my list (hint, hint hubby!).

1.  Garmin Forerunner 10

Last year my family spoiled me by buying me my Garmin Forerunner 10.  I love this GPS watch! It’s a great way to keep track of my running mileage and time and it helps me with my interval training by alerting me when it’s time to walk or run.  It’s much less bulky than the old Garmin watches and it comes in cute girly colors.

2.  Frog Togg Chilly Pad/Towel

This is on my list!  This towel cools down when wet and seeing as I have a half marathon to start training for in the middle of the summer it could come in very handy!  Just wet it, put it around your neck and go run.  It stays cool for a long time.

Because nothing says, “I Love You” like rolling out someone’s sore muscle!  Foam rollers really do hurt so good!  It hurts at the time but afterwards you realize how much better you feel.  My girls even help me out by rolling my back for me.  Ahhh….

4.  Running Shoes

I don’t know a single runner who wouldn’t love a new pair of shoes!  It can be tricky finding the right fit of shoes so I recommend purchasing a gift card to a local sporting goods store.  Or better yet, go shopping with your wife/mother/sister/friend and help them pick out new shoes!  This is a great way to show you support them and their running.

And of course I had to feature some books!  These are two of my absolute favorites!  Sarah Bowen Shea and Dimity McDowell (featured writers for Runners World) teamed up to write these two books that will teach your mother runner everything she needs to know about running and racing.  They are full of knowledge and present it in a very comical way.  The training book features training plans for running a 5K, 10K, half marathon or marathon.
If you are a mother, what is on your mother’s day list this year?
