Book Review: 101 Conversation Starters for Families

I requested and received this cute little book, 101 Conversation Starters for Families, from Northfield Publishers via the MP Newsroom blogger review program.  I loved Gary Chapman’s book, The Five Love Languages and thought this would be a neat book to use to get our girls talking about something other than Minecraft and Harry Potter.

One night over dinner we let each girl choose a page at random and we read the question on that page.  My husband and my oldest daughter liked to give ridiculous answers (imagine that!) but we all had fun taking our turns answering and we got a good laugh from each other.  Here is a sampling of some of the questions:

What dessert do you think you could eat for a lifetime?

In what Olympic sports event would you like to win a gold medal?

I think the best job in the world would be…

These are great little questions to ask and answer and I enjoyed hearing our daughters’ responses.  There are both silly and serious questions and I could see it leading to some deep conversations.  This would be a great book to take along on a road trip with your family.  You could also use it for some ice breaker questions in a small group or youth group.  101 Conversation Starters for Couples is also available.

I was sent an extra copy of this book that I would love to give away!  Be the first to comment and message me your address at and I will get it in the mail to you! Giveaway complete!
