Couch to Half Marathon Training: Week 6

I’m currently training for my third half marathon but I am starting all over with running after taking a long break to heal from some injuries.  My couch to half marathon training lasts for twenty weeks I’m posting weekly updates every Monday to keep me accountable.  Follow along to see my progress and give me a swift kick in the bootay if I’m not following through.  Check out previous weeks:  Week 1     Week 2

This week was my birthday week!  I celebrated by getting my nose pierced and eating a yummy cupcake.  And a Reese’s Cup.  Because you only turn “29” once (or in my case, 10 times).

Monday: Walk 2 minutes, Run 3 minutes x 2 miles

My time was 24:22 for a pace of 12:11. I also walked up 25 stairs on the stairclimber afterwards.

Tuesday: Rest day because I went to the beach. Sorry, treadmill. The beach will ALWAYS trump you.

Wednesday: Walk 2 minutes, Run 2 minutes x 30 minutes

I completed 2.5 miles for a pace of 12:00. Slightly faster than my last run.

Thursday: Rest Day

Friday: Happy Birthday to Me!  Rest Day.

Saturday:  Cross Training

Elliptical for 30 minutes.  I completed 2.8 miles.

Sunday:  Long Run, 5 miles

I was so excited to complete this in under an hour.  I know that probably sounds slow to some, but it was a big deal for me!  I finished in 59:41.  Just barely under an hour, but I did it!

Be sure to follow along with my training on Instagram.  I post all my workouts there, along with other random stuff.

  1. You are awesome! An inspiration as always. My weight loss has stalled, which is so frustrating, time to add in some more activity!
